Mon, 13 May 2019 15:51:36 +0000 en-US hourly 1 32 32 Mainline Mouldings, Langar Fri, 08 Apr 2016 15:34:17 +0000 A new build office and showroom facility replaced existing outdated facilities at the Company Head Quarters. Our Clients wanted a bright and modern building which would enhance the Company’s Corporate image. HSSP Architects designed a ‘playful’ arrangement of external windows framing views both internally and externally. The showroom is a flexible space to showcase products and hold events while the open plan office space offers flexibility for future growth.

Westgate, Oakham Wed, 28 Jan 2015 15:52:55 +0000 HSSP Architects have been working alongside a private client towards providing a tourist centre in the town of Oakham. The ambitious scheme could see a small plot of unused land turned into a social hub featuring restaurants, a hotel, outdoor climbing wall and bike hire centre. The hub is part of a wider vision that would connect the popular bike trails of Rutland Water with Oakham. The scheme is currently being discussed with the Planners with aim to submit the scheme in the near future.

Heritage Centre, Melton Mowbray Wed, 28 Jan 2015 12:35:26 +0000 The Heritage Gateway and Community Archive is an explorational piece that investigates how Architecture can respond to the needs of society whilst lessening the schemes impact on the ecosystems of our planet, and deriving value as an investment in the preservation of our shared heritage. The site on Burton Street had been derelict for a number of years, and is presently being used as a carpark; sub-optimally for such a prestigious site in Melton’s urban fabric.

Coffee Shop Wed, 28 Jan 2015 12:06:59 +0000 Often smaller schemes can be more challenging than expected. HSSP Architects were asked to look at the feasibility of a new coffee shop to be built within an existing shop. The unit was just 3.5m x 6m and would need a bathroom, food preparation area, service counter and ample seating and tables for its customers.

With a mix of hand drawing and computer visuals, we presented our client with 3 options which each had its own internal language and style.

After successfully receiving planning approval the coffee shop is now due to open later in the year.

Hazelwood School, Surrey Wed, 28 Jan 2015 10:09:04 +0000 HSSP Architects have been involved in the future masterplanning of the school for some time and part of this role has involved the design of a new education building with 13 classrooms, a large assembly hall and specialist music and art facilities.
The Head Teacher has a brave vision for the school and this was reflected in her requirements of the new building. This vision and an aspiration to design a sustainable building with the pupil’s vantage point at the heart has led to the creation of a truly exciting piece of architecture.
The building has recently recieved planning approval by Tandridge Borough Council.

St Peters Church, Leicester Tue, 27 Jan 2015 17:21:30 +0000 In 2012 HSSP Architects were shortlisted for a competition for the re-generation of St Peters Church in Leicester.
The new Church would feature dramatic yet sensitively installed interventions such as a large timber clad organically shaped mezzanine floor with state of the art video and music system. In addition we proposed a lightweight glass café/art gallery which would sit alongside the existing Church allowing visitors to sit amongst the historic archways and windows whilst remaining separate to any religious ceremonies.
Part of our entry included a business plan detailing how the proposal could generate revenue for the Church.

Care Home, Melton Mowbray Tue, 27 Jan 2015 16:58:34 +0000 Following the success of the 72-bed Care Home in Hinckley. HSSP Architects were instructed as Architects for a new 91-bed care home in our home town of Melton Mowbray.
After discussions with our client, Magnum Care and the Melton Mowbray Planning Department it was decided that the Care Home should take on a more modern design. The biggest challenge (and success!) was to disguise the mass of the building by careful articulation of the elevations.
The project has recently gained planning approval by the Melton Mowbray Planning Department and is currently under construction.
