We are an established multi award winning design-led RIBA chartered architectural practice delivering high-quality residential, commercial, industrial, community, sports and leisure facilities, education, care homes and mixed-use projects across the UK. With a strong pipeline of work and a collaborative studio culture, we are looking for a talented Technical Architect to strengthen our team.
About the role
As a Technical Architect, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of projects across the RIBA Plan of Work Stages. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are innovatively designed, technically robust, compliant and efficiently detailed, working closely with design teams, consultants and contractors.
About you
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for design who enjoys technical problem-solving, coordination and seeing projects through to completion on site.
Key responsibilities
- Lead technically informed design development across the RIBA Work Stages
- Prepare and coordinate detailed construction drawings and specifications
- Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations and relevant legislation
- Coordinate with third party consultants
- Review contractor information and respond to technical queries
- Attend site visits and project meetings
- Support the delivery of projects to programme and budget
Essential requirements
- ARB registered Architect or experienced Architectural Technologist
- Strong technical detailing experience with UK projects
- Excellent knowledge of UK planning policy and Building Regulations
- Experience in residential and commercial sectors
- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
- Experience producing tender and construction packages
- Confident liaising with contractors and consultants
- The desire to be part of a collaborative team culture
Desirable
- Proficiency in Revit
- Experience on projects £5m+ in value
- Experience in multiple sectors across the architectural spectrum
