CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS

An inspirational, yet common sense approach to ‘recreate’ the appearance of classic farm buildings into a rural farmstead, was the optimum solution for the site, the village and the wider community. The development is arranged in its traditional working farm layout, with only the Dutch barn re-sited due to modern residential dwelling separation requirements.

The dwellings have authenticity at the fore, with archetypal agricultural footprint widths and varying roof heights melded with contrasting construction materials, so when viewing the development from the wider countryside, its silhouette reflects a traditional farmstead, yet it is detailed in a modern and contemporary way.

The building materials palette provides authenticity and gives an agricultural language. Each home is individually designed to respond to the styling of its building. Open-plan light-filled flexible living spaces, thoughtful glazing and seamless connections to landscaped gardens and a private lake enhance wellbeing and create homes that are both functional and inspiring.

Fitted appliances, built in wardrobes, and en-suite bathrooms, with private amenity spaces, efficient car parking and turning areas create the perfect blend of luxury, practicality and rural village contemporary living.
