Was it a trick, was it a treat??? Having held a Halloween themed bake-off for three years prior to Covid which had brought lots of hilarity with sweet based gooey gore and inventive creations, HSSP Architects decided to put a twist on proceedings this year and instead hold a carved pumpkin display competition! Being a design based company, there was always going to be hidden carving talent bursting to get out and the team did not disappoint!

The only stipulations were that nothing could be stuck on or painted on to the pumpkin and the carving had to bring the creativity.

Willing volunteers from the team and some of their families excitedly took on the challenge and stepped forward to offer up their showpieces ranging from a multitude of scary and cheeky faces, to children’s book and film characters, and even a camper van! Those who were not able to participate this year eagerly eyed them up for inspiration for their entries next year….!

So we did not accidently burn down the boardroom in the studio (!) we lit the pumpkins with flickering electric tea lights and don’t they look marvellous?
