As we know, 2 + 2 + 2 = 6, and that is how many current and former Part 1 year out placements HSSP had working in the studio for two days at the end of August 2022. What is more unusual is these placements cover three academic intake years!

Katie and Cory joined us for their year out placements in September 2020 and their study paths have taken very different routes. Katie decided to stay for a second year in practice, and will subsequently be starting an architectural apprenticeship at the start of this forthcoming academic year. Cory headed back to university at the end of his year to undertake his Part 2; he remained part of the team, returning for summer working, and is soon back to university to complete his Masters, before returning to the practice to undertake his Part 3.

Lydia and Ben joined the team in July 2021. They are returning to university for their Part 2 Masters; Lydia to her former campus where no doubt she will meet back up with some of her fellow students, whereas Ben has gone south and is starting afresh making a new life for himself.

Meanwhile, this year we welcomed Rashmi and Yaroslava for their placements. They graduated from different universities, but have come together and will share their learning as their year progresses.

These are exciting times for everyone as well as HSSP and we wish them every success in their studying and working in practice.
