Residential Projects | HSSP Architects Ltd.
HSSP Architects have an extensive portfolio of Residential Projects. We work closely with private clients designing beautifully considered extensions and bespoke homes. Our passion for detail and design is evident even in the smallest house extension and pride ourselves on providing a personal service.
We also provide a professional service to housing developers, designing housing schemes of all scales. Past housing development projects include projects ranging from two small dwellings on a brownfield site to 40 sustainable homes within the green belt.
HSSP Architects were appointed by a client to design a sympathetic extension to a recently converted barn. The new extension created a 100% floor area increase, delivering a new kitchen, living room, entrance hall and cloak room on the ground floor, and a large master suite on the first floor, accessed via a new galleried landing. The new additions have been design to reflect the original stone barns, with matching brick detailing, and swithland slate roofs. The southern elevation maximise the open countryside views with large expanses of glazing to all of the principle living spaces, with traditional mix of oak, stone interior feature.+
HSSP Architects were appointed to design the conversion of a former restaurant to a modern family dwelling. The original building was Grade II Listed and this element was retained with the later unsympathetic additions being removed and internal circulation adjusted to form a courtyard development. The completed scheme has a mix of modern, open plan living space while retaining the historic character of the original building.+
HSSP Architects have transformed a 1960’s modest dwelling into a stunning home which harmonises with its rural setting within the village of Woodhouse Eaves. The existing dwelling was partially demolished and a new basement was constructed before the new extensions were formed giving the house a new identity. The use of traditional materials such as oak framing, rough cast render and Swithland stone creates a dramatic facade with breathtaking interior spaces.+
Set in the heart of Swithand, a beautiful village within the Charnwood Forest, HSSP Architects have extended and renovated a modest dwelling into a stunning 6000sqft family home. Although the layout and design features are contemporary, HSSP Architects have still embraced traditional local materials, such as Swithland stone and slate, creating a rich architectural language with a subtle palette of materials.+
In an open countryside setting, HSSP Architects were successful in gaining planning consent to demolish an existing bungalow and design a stunning new family home for their client. The new dwelling of 3500sqft has been designed to maximise the open aspect over rolling countryside with large open plan kitchen/family spaces with a first floor terrace accessed from bedroom accommodation.+
