A charming development set within a highly desirable village location has been born from creative re-use of brownfield land. 10 private dwellings have been arranged in two courtyard formations to replicate historic agricultural layouts and to mirror the more central developments of the village that consist of converted farm buildings and courtyards.

The dwellings are a superb mix of 2 to 5 bedroom homes that are single, 1.5 and 2 storey, each with their own unique characteristics. Some are designed with a nod to cottage style dwellings, with others an inference to outbuilding conversions.

They are constructed from brick, stone, timber cladding and slate roofs to echo the materials palette of nearby buildings, with the new stone boundaries akin to the village’s tradition of ironstone walling.

A quarter of the site will be retained and re-seeded as a large grassland area to link with the adjacent grassland and replicate the wider natural landscape context. This will also bring large ecological and biodiversity benefits by encouraging natural habits to flourish, and native flora and fauna to thrive.

Additional hedgerow planting will soften the site, with native trees strategically planted to break up the ridge line of the dwellings.

The homes will all benefit from an EV charging point allowing electric vehicles to be charged, thereby promoting sustainable travel options.

We are very much looking forward to following the rest of its progress to completion.
